Set amidst the historic Maropeng, the Official Visitor Centre for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site, Johannesburg’s annual “702 Walk the Talk” event is more than just a walk; it’s a journey through time and heritage.

    Today, the iconic location becomes a playground for participants of all ages and abilities to not just enjoy the scenic routes, but also immerse themselves in the beauty and significance of one of the world’s most famous heritage sites.

    From 23rd June 2023 to 11th August 2023, individuals flocked to register for this anticipated event. Given its unparalleled location and the experience it promised, slots were limited.

    702 Walk the Talk 2023

    Against the backdrop of Maropeng’s sprawling landscapes, participants could choose from:

    1. The 3km Walk: Priced at R180, this walk catered to persons with disabilities and guardians with children below twelve.
    2. The 5km & 8km Walks: For R350, participants could challenge themselves with these lengths and also receive a complimentary T-shirt.

    The walks were staggered for the convenience of participants:

    • 3km Walk at 10h45.
    • 5km Walk at 10h30.
    • 8km Walk kick-starting the event at 09h00.

    It was imperative for guardians to provide written consent for participants under 18, ensuring everyone’s safety and consent.
