Residents are advised to prepare for chilly conditions and occasional rain, especially along the eastern regions, as the day progresses.

Gauteng Province

Starting off the forecast with Gauteng, today brings a welcome respite from the chill. Johannesburg begins the day at a cool 4°C, gradually warming to a pleasant 18°C by noon, remaining sunny throughout the afternoon. Newcomers and residents alike in Pretoria can expect a similar trend, with temperatures climbing from 4°C to a warmer 22°C by midday. Overall, expect Gauteng weather to be mostly sunny with a high of 22°C. As evening sets in, temperatures will drop to around 9°C, with some cloud cover creeping in.

Western Cape

In the Western Cape, including Cape Town, conditions will be markedly different. Morning fog shrouds the city with temperatures starting at 15°C. As the fog dissipates, the sun will reveal partly cloudy skies by midday, with temperatures peaking at 20°C. In the afternoon, areas like Stellenbosch and George will also experience clearing skies, though cooler temperatures are expected as the sun sets. With Cape Town weather trending from fog to partly cloudy conditions, evening temperatures will hover around a comfortable 17°C.

KwaZulu-Natal

The KwaZulu-Natal province will encounter a unique combination of foggy mornings and light showers later in the day. Durban begins at a warm 17°C and reaches 22°C by noon, blessed with some sun peeking through. However, be prepared for light showers arriving in the evening, with temperatures cooling down to around 19°C. Pietermaritzburg can expect similar ups and downs, starting off the day at 13°C and peaking around 18°C.

Eastern Cape

Transitioning to the Eastern Cape, cities like Port Elizabeth and East London kick off the day experiencing fog in the early hours, with temperatures around 12°C and 13°C respectively. By midday, expect sunny bursts and high temperatures between 19°C and 20°C. The evening will bring some cloudiness and a slight dip in temperatures, wrapping up the day around 16°C.

Free State

In the Free State, the weather is influenced by cool conditions. Bloemfontein starts off cold at 4°C but will rise to a cheerful 16°C by noon. Afternoon clear skies mean a pleasant escape, with evening temperatures tapering off to a crisp 13°C. Similarly, Welkom and Bethlehem will also see rising temperatures and clear weather as the day progresses.

Limpopo

Limpopo enjoys more moderate conditions as temperatures remain slightly warmer. Polokwane sees a morning start of 3°C, eventually reaching 18°C by noon under a bright sun. Expect clear and pleasant weather throughout the day, dropping to about 15°C in the evening. Lephalale will follow suit with similarly pleasant temperatures.

Mpumalanga

Over in Mpumalanga, Mbombela starts at a brisk 3°C but will climb to a comfortable 18°C by midday. The day remains clear, with evening temps settling around 15°C, making it a perfectly enjoyable day for outdoor activities.

North West

The North West Province, especially Mahikeng and Rustenburg, enjoys a gentle start around 3°C, progressing to 17°C and 18°C respectively by noon. The weather is predicted to remain sunny with clear skies, making it a day to enjoy nature.

Northern Cape

Lastly, the Northern Cape welcomes the day with clearer skies. Kimberley and Upington boast bright sunny conditions, starting around 6°C and 7°C respectively, with maximum temperatures soaring to 22°C and 24°C. Evening cools will bring temperatures down to 17°C and 18°C.
