Police spotted two vehicles, including the stolen Polo, traveling on the N1 North between William Nicol Drive and Rivonia Road. When officers attempted to intercept the suspects, they opened fire, triggering a high-speed gunfight.

The confrontation ended with three suspects fatally shot and one fleeing on foot. The fourth suspect was quickly apprehended a short distance from the scene. Authorities recovered the stolen appliances and two unlicensed firearms from the suspects’ vehicles.

The surviving suspect is currently in custody and will be charged with multiple serious offenses, including:

He is expected to appear in court soon as investigations continue into the broader criminal network.
