Foton View C2 Diesel-Powered Panel Van Priced: A New Addition to Foton’s Van Range

Foton has officially widened its commercial vehicle offering in South Africa with the debut of the diesel-powered View C2 panel van, revealed at its first-ever “Made for Business” showcase at Emperors’ Palace near Boksburg on Wednesday, 25 June.

Expanding the Line-up

The View C2 joins Foton’s growing van and minibus portfolio, which already includes the 16-seat Asambe taxi, the 15-seat View CS2, and the fully electric eView. Although visually similar to the eView, the C2 drops the blue EV trim, sealed front grille, and body-coloured bumpers.

Designed to challenge the likes of the Toyota HiAce, the View C2 is offered exclusively in long-wheelbase configuration. This setup provides a load bay length of 2,820 mm, a maximum payload capacity of 1,200 kg, and a total cargo volume of 5.66 cubic metres.

Unlike some of its competitors, the View C2 features a flip-up tailgate and dual manually sliding side doors, delivering practicality for loading in tight spaces.

Under the Bonnet

Replacing the eView’s electric motor is a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, the same unit found in the View CS2. It delivers 101 kW and 330 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. This setup offers a balance between performance and efficiency for business operations.

Interior and Features

Inside, the View C2 offers modest, functional comfort. Key features include:

  • 15-inch steel wheels with plastic hub covers
  • Electric front windows
  • Air-conditioning
  • Infotainment display with Bluetooth and USB connectivity
  • LED daytime running lights
  • Driver’s airbag, ABS, and EBD
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Remote central locking

Pricing and Warranty

The Foton View C2 panel van is priced at R449,900 and comes with a three-year/100,000 km warranty. A service plan is available as an optional extra.

With its practical design, diesel powertrain, and competitive price, the Foton View C2 positions itself as an alternative to established names like the Toyota HiAce. Foton’s focus on value and functionality makes the C2 a compelling choice for South African businesses looking to expand their fleet without breaking the bank.
