Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Mbule and Mako Potential Free Transfers

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly on the verge of securing two significant free agents, Paseka Mako and Sipho Mbule. This move aims to bolster their squad ahead of the new season. The potential acquisitions come as both players recently became unattached. Mako was released by Orlando Pirates, and Mbule by Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mako’s Soweto Switch Nears Completion
Veteran full-back Paseka Mako, 31, who was recently let go by Orlando Pirates, appears to be on the verge of a sensational switch to their Soweto rivals, Kaizer Chiefs. SABC Sport initially reported that Mako was in negotiations with Chiefs. Despite the club having signed Bradley Cross last season to strengthen their left-back position, subsequent reports from KickOff have further solidified these claims. They indicate that Mako has already agreed to a three-year deal with Amakhosi, set to commence in July. This move would see the experienced defender cross the fierce Soweto derby divide.
Mbule’s Agent Confirms Chiefs Offer, Club Deliberates
The situation surrounding 27-year-old midfielder Sipho Mbule is more complex. His outspoken agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed that the player has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. This confirmation followed an initial denial by Makaab. He told FarPost that rumors of Mbule heading to Naturena were untrue and that no formal approaches had been made.
However, Makaab later clarified his stance on social media, stating, “Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.” While the offer is on the table, Chiefs have yet to make a definitive decision on bringing in the midfielder. He recently parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns. Coach Nasreddine Nabi is understood to be actively building a robust squad for the upcoming campaign, and Mbule’s potential addition remains under consideration.
Rowan Human Also Linked to Soweto Giants
In addition to Mako and Mbule, another prominent free agent, Rowan Human, is also being linked with a move to either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates. The midfielder is a key player for Arthur Zwane’s AmaZulu FC. He is set to depart the Durban-based club on a free transfer. A report by iDiski Times suggests that Human’s representatives have offered him to both Soweto giants, setting up another potential transfer battle between the two fierce rivals.
As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on Naturena to see if Kaizer Chiefs will finalize these high-profile free agent signings. This could significantly strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
