Available Apprenticeship Opportunities

Ekurhuleni West TVET College, in partnership with MERSETA, invites qualifying candidates to apply for these electrical and mechanical trade apprenticeships:

What You Learn During the Apprenticeship

A. Electrician (3 years)

Installing and repairing electrical wiring in homes, businesses, and factories
Understanding electrical infrastructure, safety protocols, and wiring diagrams
Testing circuits and troubleshooting electrical faults

B. Fitter & Turner (3 years)

Operating machine tools—lathes, milling machines
Shaping and fitting metal parts for engines, pumps, and industrial machinery
Reading engineering drawings and fitting parts accurately

C. Mechatronics Technician (4½ years)

Combining mechanics, electronics, and computing
Programming PLCs (programmable logic controllers)

Entry Requirements

To apply, you’ll need one of the following qualifications, all obtained at Ekurhuleni West TVET College:

NC(V) Level 4 in Electrical Infrastructure Construction (for electrician)
N6 in Electrical Engineering (electrician)
NC(V) Level 4 in Engineering and Related Design (Fitting & Turning)
N6 in Mechanical Engineering (fitter/turner)
NC(V) Level 4 in Mechatronics (mechatronics technician)
