Requirements for the Position
Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess an Engineering Degree, such as a B Eng or BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a professional engineer is essential.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification engineering experience is required.
- Practical experience in road design and construction, coupled with strong project management knowledge, is highly preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is a requirement for this role.
- Applicants should be well-versed in the relevant legislative framework, including the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) policies, National Land Transport Act of 2009, and the Engineering Professional Act.
- The ideal candidate should also have expertise in engineering design, analysis, and proficiency in computer-aided engineering applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Compliance and Safety Promotion:
- The engineer will promote safety on all projects, ensuring that statutory regulations and safety procedures are strictly followed.
- Supervision of Construction Projects:
- The role involves supervising construction teams to ensure that projects comply with technical manuals, standard drawings, and established procedures.
- Budget and Expenditure Oversight:
- One of the main responsibilities will be ensuring the effective management of project budgets and controlling expenditure to achieve efficient resource use.
- Skills Development and Training:
- The engineer will facilitate skills transfer on construction sites. Additionally, they will mentor and train technicians, technologists, and candidate engineers.
- Reporting and Documentation:
