About the Role
The Marketing and Brand Officer will take the reins of all marketing, branding, and communication strategies. This role is not just about advertising—it’s about telling the story of a thriving school and reinforcing its reputation within the Parkland Residence and the broader Johannesburg community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to align with the school’s objectives.
- Brand Management: Ensuring all visual and written communications maintain consistency with the school’s identity—from uniforms and brochures to banners and signage.
- Digital Marketing: Managing the website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X), with a strong focus on SEO and engagement analytics.
- Creative Design: Producing marketing materials, coordinating with designers, and leading content creation for both internal and external use.
- Photography & Videography: Planning shoots for events, marketing content, and promotional campaigns.
- Events Marketing: Supporting the Admissions & Events Manager with branding, materials, and promotion for school events such as Open Days, Founders’ Day, and award ceremonies.
- Budgeting & Procurement: Managing the marketing budget, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring brand-aligned procurement of promotional materials.
- Team Supervision: Leading the Marketing Assistant and collaborating across departments to ensure all marketing efforts are streamlined and effective.
Candidate Requirements
Steyn City School is looking for a candidate who brings a combination of experience, creativity, and organizational savvy.
Essential qualifications and competencies include:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in digital tools like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Meltwater, and Google Analytics.
- Experience managing websites and CMS platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Photography and basic video editing skills are a plus.
- A track record of working in a school or similar environment will be advantageous.
