GTA aims to showcase the province’s township tourism products, which are proudly South African. During the time in which the tourism sector is in full recovery mode. Kindly note that we have leveraged with The Rand Easter Show 2023 to be held between 6-10 April 2023 at the Nasrec Expo Center, Johannesburg.
GTA will be taking 18 SMME’s who offer various African products from craft fashion to clothing, accommodation, tour operating etc. The 18 SMME’s are from all the five Gauteng regions, and all were selected from each region to come and present and sell their products.
The Rand Show 2023
The Rand Show – previously known as the Rand Easter Show – is one of South Africa’s largest and oldest consumer lifestyle exhibition. It is an annual show held in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is the largest consumer exhibition show in Southern Africa. It has been an important event in the city for many years, attracting more than 400,000 visitors in 2007. It was also called the Grand Rand Show, when it was held a few weeks outside of Easter in the late 1980s citation needed.
As the first big Post-Covid show to take place in South Africa, it managed to attract a crowd of over 60 000 visitors in year 2022. The Easter holidays in South Africa are well known as family time and the show focuses on offering an experience for the entire family. If you are looking for maximum consumer exposure in South Africa, the Rand Show is the place to showcase your brand.
Many big brands have launched new products and have even started their businesses at the Rand Show. The show attracts a diverse audience looking for a fun-filled day of shopping and entertainment experiences.
GTA uses the Rand Show to increase in the length of stay, combating the use of Gauteng as a stopover despite its wealth in premier leisure offerings, curbing seasonality and changing VFRs (visiting friends and relatives) into active travellers.
