Programmes Offered
1. Higher Certificate in Nursing (Auxiliary Nurse)
- Duration: 1 year (full-time)
- Outcome: Registration with SANC as an Auxiliary Nurse
- Purpose: Equips students with essential nursing skills to provide basic care and support in healthcare settings under the supervision of a professional nurse.
2. Diploma in Nursing (General Nurse)
- Duration: 3 years (full-time)
- Outcome: Registration with SANC as a General Nurse
- Purpose: Prepares graduates to function as general nurses across various healthcare environments, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centres.

Admission Requirements
A. Higher Certificate in Nursing
Academic Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of Level 4 (50%) in Life Sciences or Biology
Alternative Route:
- Completion of the Health Care Assistant Course offered by UKWAZI Skills Campus
- Must achieve:
- An average mark of 75%
- At least 50% in the Anatomy and Physiology module
B. Diploma in Nursing
Academic Requirements:
- NSC or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of Level 5 (60%) in Life Sciences or Biology
Alternative Route:
- Completion of the Health Care Assistant Course
- Must achieve:
- An average mark of 80%
- At least 60% in the Anatomy and Physiology module
Note: The Admission Point Score (APS) is calculated based on the applicant’s six best subjects, excluding Life Orientation.

Selection Process
Meeting the minimum admission criteria does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants will undergo a competitive multi-phase selection process:
- Paper Selection
Evaluation of academic records and required documentation. - Psychometric Testing
Shortlisted candidates are invited to complete aptitude tests at the school. - Personal Interviews
Candidates with high scores from the tests are interviewed. - Final Selection
Offers are made based on performance across all stages.
Preference is given to candidates who have completed the UKWAZI Health Care Assistant Course.
